José Raúl Montes Pagán, MD graduated from Cornell University and obtained his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine in San Juan and completed his residency and internship in Ophthalmology at the University of Puerto Rico.

He then completed his fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Montes Pagán is an oculoplastic surgeon in San Juan, Puerto Rico and an associate professor in the Ophthalmology Department at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.

Dr. Montes Pagán is licensed by the Puerto Rico Medical Board, the New York Medicine and Surgery Board, and the Florida Medical Board.

Additionally, he is a member of the Allergan Partner Privileges, the American Academy of Ophthalmology – Fellowship, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons Association, the American College of Surgeons – PR Chapter, the Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico, the Cornell Alumni Club, the COSEP Scholarship, Cornell University, the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology, and the Puerto Rico Society of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Montes Pagán is a well-respected speaker, instructor, and researcher having lectured, taught and studied various ophthalmic surgery topics.
