Charito: Los labios le dan expresión a nuestro rostro. Qué podemos hacer para mantener nuestros labios con una apariencia agradable, saludable y por qué no, también juvenil? Vamos a hablar con el Cirujano Oculoplástico Dr. José Raúl Montes. Gracias por estar con nosotros.
Dr. JRM: Buenos días Charo.
Charito: Siempre se habla de los ojos, pero también los labios hay que …
Dr. JRM: En la parte superior yo siempre digo que los ojos reinan pero en la parte inferior son los labios los que comunican y los que dicen todo.
Charito: Ahí es. Entonces, ¿cómo podemos con una ayudita (verdad) tener unos labios más agradables?
Dr. JRM: Es importante cuando nosotros miramos —si tenemos la oportunidad de mirar las gráficas que traje hoy Charo— [Charo: vamos a verlas, claro que sí.] para que veamos lo complejo que puede ser arreglar los labios. Se requiere mucha, mucha experiencia. Hay muchas estructuras.
Charito: ¿Todo eso esta envuelto? Uno piensa que es el labio nada más.
Dr. JRM: Todo eso está envuelto. El labio está acompañado de muchas estructuras y lo más importante (Charo) es que el labio es importantísimo, no solamente para comunicar, sino que también tiene unas estructuras que tienen mucho movimiento. Es dinámico, así que es que los tratamientos que vamos a hacer en el labio (y si pasamos a la próxima gráfica), vamos a ver cómo estos labios cambian con la edad. Vemos que cuando tenemos 20 años pues todo el mundo …
Charito: Esos labios están queridos.
Dr. JRM: Claro. Después que pasan ya a los 30, los 40 años, empiezan a perder volumen y ya vemos que a los 60 años no solamente el labio empieza a desaparecerse, empieza a invertirse, meterse hacia adentro, sino que vemos líneas alrededor de los labios que salen de la boca y también salen de la nariz. Vemos la próxima gráfica cómo son los labios a los 40 años. Tienen volumen, están adecuados, pero los pacientes a esta edad lo que quieren es resaltar eso, así es que hay que hacerlo de una manera muy sutil.
Charito: ¿Cómo se hace?
Dr. JRM: En la próxima edad, ya vemos, los 50 …
Charito: Estamos llegando a la mía.
Dr. JRM: Ya perdemos un poquito de volumen y aquí ya hay que restablecer volumen y ya cuando volvemos a un poco de más edad (en la próxima grafica) …
Charito: Ahí, ahí estoy.
Dr. JRM: Vamos a ver que ahí hay que restablecer no solamente el labio, sino también las estructuras adyacentes.
Charito: ComisurasDr. JRM: Exacto. Me encantaría que pasáramos a los videos para que vean cómo es que se pueden restablecer los labios de una manera natural para que el paciente se vea refrescado y sin ningún indicio de que fue intervenido.
Charito: ¿Esos son inyecciones?
Dr. JRM: Son inyectables. Hay que usar ácidos hialurónicos, productos que están idealmente hechos para labios, es decir, productos suaves que son fácilmente movibles en el labio, que no crean grumos o irregularidades. El producto tienen anestesia integrada (se hace en la inyección) para que el procedimiento sea cómodo para el paciente y se hace lo más suave posible. Estos son los resultados que podemos ver en algunos pacientes.
Charito: Esto sería una paciente …
Dr. JRM: Aquí vemos otra paciente donde lo que estamos tratando es ver lo que son el arco de cupido, esa prominencia que vemos. Mira los labios hechos. La paciente se ve restablecida sin que se noten que han sido inyectados. Aquí vemos también el cuerpo del labio cuando se inyecta estos productos de ácidos hialurónico, la parte lateral, también se le va volumen. Esto es lo que se llama el cuerpo de labio; son dos en la parte superior y tres en la parte inferior.
Charito: Yo voy usar un termino que usa la gente en la calle.
Dr. JRM: ¿Cuál es?
Charito: Cuando a veces las mujeres se hacen los labios, que si quedan como boca chopa.
Dr. JRM: Caramba, no. No.
Charito: Aquí no. Mira los hombres también.
Dr. JRM: Los hombres también; sobre todo ahora. ¿Sabes por qué Charo?
Charito: Ahí ese labio queda natural.
Dr. JRM: Porque se ponen candados, se dejan la barba y me dicen se me escondieron los labios. Pues, vamos a sacarlos de una manera sutil, pero, volviendo al comentario que tu hiciste porque me encantó. ¿Sabes por qué Charo? Porque antes los peores ejemplos visibles al mundo de tratamientos cosméticos eran en los labios porque se usaban los materiales incorrectos y se inyectaban incorrectamente en los labios. Hoy en día contamos con los productos adecuados y tenemos la experiencia para hacer que estos se vean naturales.
